There’s one scent that never fails to whisk me right back to my childhood. Those heady days spent outside - playing football, climbing trees, chasing bad guys…those summer days seemed to last forever. And, on the school fields we claimed as our own, the ride-on mower would come round periodically, forcing us to take a hard-earned break. And after work, when the sun shone, the neighbours would be out mowing the front lawn.
It’s that freshly cut grass smell that takes me back. Back to when days were long, summers were endless, and life stretched out ahead of you, full of possibilities. And today, in this summer, as I breathe in the familiar smell of the grass, freshly cut, with the sun shining down, that old feeling is back, even if for a brief moment - life is full of possibilities.
