How do your Pillar Refills work?

Our innovative Pillar Refills are designed to make your GHFS candle pot a candle for life. They are made from the same materials as our poured candles, and as such, are suitable only for use in our pots. They are designed specifically for our GHFS ceramic candle pots, so we can only guarantee a safe and clean burn with our pots. 

Having said all that, they are very simple to use. Just unwrap your Pillar Refill, pop it in your empty GHFS candle pot and light as normal. The Pillar Refill will take a few burns to melt into the shape of the pot, but will burn evenly and cleanly til the end.

Can you refill a non-GHFS pot?

The short answer is; yes! We love giving old candle pots a new lease of life, so we are happy to refill any heat safe container, within reason. Our largest standard refill size is approx 300 grams. So, if your pot is bigger, do get in touch, send us the measurements of your pot, and a photo if you have one, and we’ll let you know if we can refill it.

Are your tealights refillable too?

While we love to refill and reuse everything we can, it’s not possible to refill our tealights. They are made from recycled plastic, and are fully recyclable, however, so you can recycle them at home.

How do your match strike pots work?

Our match pots hold extra long matches and have a striker pad on the bottom of the pot to light the matches.

The striker pads will last at least as long as a pack of matches, but do wear out eventually. That’s why all our match refill bundles come with a new striker pad too. These have a sticky backing, so you can just peel it off and pop it straight onto your match pot.

How long does it take to ship a GHFS order?

We aim to post all orders within 1-3 business days.

Every poured refill is made to order and we aim to make and post these within a week from when we receive your pot.

What shipping options do you offer?

We offer automatic free standard delivery with every order of £40 or more.

For orders less than £40, standard shipping is £2.00.

We post all orders with Royal Mail and use their 2nd class service as our standard delivery option. Delivery is 2-3 days from shipping.

First Class Shipping is £3.75. First Class delivery orders ship by Royal Mail. Delivery is 1 day from shipping.

We also offer express shipping for £9.99, deliveries will arrive before 1pm the next working day after shipping.

We provide tracking numbers for every order.

What does your Pack and Post service include?

Our Pack and Post option is designed to make getting your poured refills as simple as possible. 

When you place an order, choose the Pack and Post option at checkout. We’ll then send you a flatpacked, addressed box with pre-paid postage. When this arrives, pack your candle pot safely inside, and drop it off at the Post Office or arrange a collection with Royal Mail.

We’ll email you all these details, including how to arrange a collection, when you place an order, so you can’t go wrong.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes! We offer gift wrapping, for £4.50, on all items. You can either add this from the product listing page, or at checkout. As we wrap each item individually, gift wrapping is charged per item.

We use recycled, recyclable paper, recyclable ribbon and plastic-free tape for all our gift wrapping.

How should I look after my GHFS candle?

Taking care of your candle will ensure it burns well and cleanly for the maximum burn time. To find out how to care for your candle, please see our Safety and Candle Care page.

How can I find out more about your ingredients?

If you have any queries about the ingredients we use to make our candles, please email us at In the meantime, always read your candle label before use. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

How do I make sure I’m burning my GHFS candle safely?

Be sure to place your candle on a heat safe surface, as especially toward the end of burning a candle, the pot can get hot. Never leave your burning candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets. And do not burn candles too close to each other - we recommend 10cm between them.

Can I return my GHFS product and get a refund?

We know it’s tricky shopping for scents online. So, if your candle (or anything else, for that matter) isn’t quite right, we will of course take it back and refund you the full amount.

Do make sure the item is in its original condition - we can’t accept candles that have been lit, or matches that have been struck - unless the item is, for some reason, faulty.

For a refund, please email us at stating your name and order number and let us know the reason for the refund. Then pack up your item safely and post it back to us at:
